About

My name is Chris Werner and I'm a Media Relations Associate for the Iowa Cubs for the 2024 season. Previously, from May of 2023 until February of 2024, I was the Marketing and Communications USGA PJ. Boatwright Jr. Intern for the Arkansas State Golf Association, where I managed the ASGA's Instagram and Twitter pages and wrote nearly 30 articles for the "News and Updates" page on the association's website.

I graduated from the University of Iowa in the spring of 2023 with bachelor's degrees in Journalism and Mass Communication as well as Sports Studies. I also minored in Sport and Recreation Management.

While at Iowa, I worked as a sports reporter at the award-winning student newspaper The Daily Iowan beginning in the fall of my freshman year. Later in my time in Iowa City, I moved into roles of Digital Producer, Summer Sports Editor, and Assistant Sports Editor. I also co-hosted our sports section's podcast The DI Scoreboard.
